"Finding Your Way" - UTS Human Factors Career Panel
Distilled Consulting's Managing Director, Todd Shardlow, featured as a panellist on the recent "Finding Your Way" series of UTS career panel events.
A collaboration between the UTS Engineering Society and the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) NSW Branch, Todd was invited to share his career journey and experience in the field of Human Factors.
"It was a privilege to be asked to be a panel member for the UTS "Finding Your Way" Career Panel event. It was energising to see the interest and enthusiasm the next generation have for both HF and engineering and support them as they take their first steps into these fields", said Todd.

Todd has always passionately advocated for Human Factors and is a proud supporter of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) and its Early Career & Student Special Interest Group.
Human Factors is such a niche (but utterly vital) field here in Australia. It's critically important we support the continued growth of the industry here so we can foster more home-grown HF talent.
It was a thrill to be invited as a panellist with the UTS Engineering Society to help build awareness of this critical discipline and support the next wave of HF specialists as they take their first steps into the field. There were plenty of great questions from the students and a really engaging discussion about HF careers and how to deal with real world problems in the HF space.
Thank you to fellow panellist Dr Wendy Elford and our hosts Lauren Sharpe (UTS Engineering Society) & Dr Amy Chung (HFESA NSW Branch Chair).
Humans & complex systems… Distilled.
