Managing Director, Todd Shardlow, reflected "Starting up a new business and making it through the first 12 months is always hard going - just ask any founder. To have started an exciting new Human Factors consultancy in the middle of a global pandemic and not just survived, but thrived – is something that I am incredibly proud of."
Time for a well deserved Distilled beverage to celebrate!
Distilled Consulting is thrilled to be admitted as a new member to the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB).
Managing Director, Todd Shardlow, remarked "Distilled Consulting is proud to have been accepted as a member of RISSB. We are an enthusiastic supporter of the work RISSB do, and Distilled Consulting looks forward to actively participating in future RISSB activities to help drive continuous improvement in the Australian rail industry."
A collaboration between the UTS Engineering Society and the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) NSW Branch, Todd was invited to share his career journey and experience in the field of Human Factors.
"It was a privilege to be asked to be a panel member for the UTS "Finding Your Way" Career Panel event. It was energising to see the interest and enthusiasm the next generation have for both HF and engineering and support them as they take their first steps into these fields", said Todd.
Hello colleagues and friends,
For the past 17-odd years, you've heard me extol the virtues of Human Factors in the organisations I’ve worked with.
It's been an ongoing source of professional and personal enthusiasm to advocate for, and help in the design of, complex systems and workplaces that can provide safe environments where that fuzzy 'grey' area of human behaviour is integrated alongside black and white system behaviour.
Today I'm excited to announce that I've already taken new steps on this journey, with the official launch of my new business, Distilled Consulting.
