Launching Distilled Consulting
Hello colleagues and friends,
For the past 17-odd years, you've heard me extol the virtues of Human Factors in the organisations I’ve worked with.
It's been an ongoing source of professional and personal enthusiasm to advocate for, and help in the design of, complex systems and workplaces that can provide safe environments where that fuzzy 'grey' area of human behaviour is integrated alongside black and white system behaviour.
Today I'm excited to announce that I've already taken new steps on this journey, with the official launch of my new business, Distilled Consulting.
My goal is to both provide Human Factors consulting services across industries in desperate need of them, but also to build awareness of this utterly vital discipline.
Distilled Consulting is all about "Delivering nuanced simplicity and actionable clarity to the grey areas of risk".
It means that we all need to recognise that any time that humans are involved, understanding risk isn't black and white, and that for Human Factors to be successful in any project, the outcomes need to be simple, clear, and actionable.
We’ve spent a considerable amount of time creating a new brand that distills the essence of what I can bring to the table, and I’m very excited to be able to reveal it to you now.
As some of you would be aware, I’ve already been busy over the past few months partnering with my first clients to deliver a right-sized approach to Human Factors, one that finds the balance between a purist Human Factors approach and a pragmatic real-world result.
I hope that in the years to come I'll work with many of you again, ensuring that together we can distill our collective knowledge into safer working systems throughout Australia.
